Position Overview:
This role is a non-exempt position within a medical office, focusing on front desk operations in a healthcare practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Tenet Florida Physician Services.
- Comply with the HIPAA Compliance Plan and maintain confidentiality as per the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Corporate Compliance Program by understanding compliance duties as outlined in the Code of Conduct, adhering to relevant laws and regulations, and reporting any compliance issues promptly.
- Welcome patients as they arrive at the healthcare facility.
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, confirm existing appointments, and reschedule as necessary.
- Check in patients, gather accurate demographic information, input data into the electronic health record system, and verify insurance coverage.
- Assist patients during the checkout process and facilitate referral management and scheduling.
- Collect co-payments and accurately post charges to patient accounts.
- Process charge entries and manage patient balance inquiries.
- Provide patients with information regarding office policies, procedures, and general practice information.
- Guide and enroll patients in the patient portal for enhanced communication.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare or medical office environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Day shifts available.
