Position Summary

The Security Systems Technician II is integral to the successful installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of security systems, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction within the Field Operations Department.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and maintain security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform system upgrades and modifications to align with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective implementation of security solutions.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

  • Quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and utilize troubleshooting tools to assess system performance.
  • Provide both remote and on-site support to address client needs and maintain system integrity.

Client Support:

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements and respond to inquiries.
  • Offer training and guidance on system operation and maintenance.
  • Foster positive client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including reports, equipment inventory, and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with the technical support team to enhance knowledge bases and best practices.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all installations and services comply with company and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and engage in quality improvement initiatives.

Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned within the scope of the role.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant trade certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in security system installation and maintenance, with a focus on projects of significant scale.
  • 1 to 2 product-specific certifications preferred; industry certifications desired; must possess or be able to obtain necessary state and/or local licenses.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Basic knowledge of construction and electrical or low voltage systems.
  • Experience in electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation, or building automation is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and relevant documentation.
  • Understanding of Life Safety and building codes.
  • Capability to identify the need for escalated support and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
