Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Officer to join our team at Leidos. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational security posture of our information systems and ensuring compliance with relevant security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining the appropriate operational IA posture for our systems, programs, and enclaves.
  • Conduct ISSO responsibilities, including the approval of change requests, review of audit logs, review of system accounts, and analysis of vulnerability scans.
  • Maintain operational security posture for our information systems or programs to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
  • Assist with the management of security aspects of our information systems and perform day-to-day security operations of the system.
  • Provide configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages.
  • Thorough understanding of the RMF process (Risk Management Framework).
  • Coordinate with System Administrators and others to remediate all vulnerabilities and report results. Track open vulnerabilities and obtain and document approvals while managing POA&M status.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related discipline, or 8-12 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Possess a current DoD 8570.01 compliant certification for IAM Level I or higher.
  • Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) cybersecurity requirements and guidance, cybersecurity-related risk management techniques.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining SSP or security-related documentation.
  • Must be able to work in a constantly changing regulatory environment with short-, mid-, and long-term timelines for remediating any non-compliance.
  • Must be able to work well within a small team environment and be able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Past or current ISSM/ISSO, System Administrator, or Security experience as a CSSO with experience working with DoD & DCSA.
  • Possess good social skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have an active current Top Secret clearance with SCI w/poly to be considered for this role.
  • Experience conducting security audits of information systems.
  • Cyber and/or IT certification such as Security + CE.
  • Vulnerability assessment and analysis experience utilizing SCAP, NESSUS, and DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with DoD implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and governing directives (NIST, CNSS, DSS, etc.).
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
