Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care and support to our medical staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge and skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ambulatory care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and performing routine lab tests.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record (EMR) systems and assist with locating charts and printing information.
  • Assist with answering phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, and redirecting calls to nurses or providers as needed.
  • Obtain patient insurance information, demographics, and prior authorizations for testing.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and participate in staff development and staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • 1 year experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting, preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, preferred
