Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract/Grant Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing management in planning and monitoring grant/contract submissions and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant/Contract Management: Provide management in planning and monitoring grant/contract submissions and progress, including budget/fiscal planning and control, day-to-day management of operations, program development and marketing to increase revenues for a large, complex sponsored grant/contract.
  • Financial Planning and Management: Responsible for fiscal oversight and management, including negotiating service contracts and purchasing of supplies and equipment for operations activities, financial planning and monitoring grant/contract progress, and developing and managing the budget.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage and supervise assigned staff, including recruiting for program participants and committees, and performing various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and monitor strategic plans to ensure the fiscal viability of the grant or contract program, and advise college/department leadership on long-range financial planning and development of new initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or closely-related field.
  • Experience: 60 months experience in business management, administration, accounting, finance, operations management or closely-related area, with 24 months of the required experience directly related to coordinating/managing sponsored grants or contracts.
  • Skills: Advanced working knowledge of databases and electronic tools related to funding opportunity dissemination, Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of pre-award grant submission process and federal application requirements, advanced organization skills, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and ability to perform multitasks and handle stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree: Preferred.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced office environment with a stressful environment when meeting deadlines.
