Job Summary

Maryland Rural Dev Corp is seeking a qualified Early Head Start Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate classroom activities and instruction to Early Head Start students and support Early Head Start families in compliance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards and MRDC policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Instruction: Develop and implement lesson plans that promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of infants and toddlers.
  • Family Support: Provide support and resources to Early Head Start families to promote healthy child development and family well-being.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other MRDC staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to Early Head Start services.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and family interactions.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED with willingness to take coursework to complete Infant-Toddler CDA within 6 months. Continue to pursue Early Childhood Education coursework for the Office of Child Care to include 90-hour Child Growth and Development, Preschool Curriculum, and Infant and Toddler Curriculum within 1 year of employment. Bachelor or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with children age zero through three years.
