Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Embrace Day Program, Inc. This role involves providing direct support services to intellectually disabled adults, fostering their independence, and promoting their overall well-being.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with participants to implement their individualized needs and services plans, ensuring their safety, and supporting their goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing supportive relationships with participants and promoting maximum self-determination
  • Providing continuous supervision to ensure participant safety and well-being
  • Implementing positive programming activities that cater to participants' cultural backgrounds and needs
  • Assisting participants in accessing generic community-based services and developing schedules aligned with their Individual Program Plan (IPP)
  • Using alternative communication strategies to facilitate effective interaction
  • Responding to crisis situations and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months of experience working with intellectually disabled adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and represent the organization professionally
  • Valid California driver's license and good driving record (if applicable)
  • TB, health, criminal record, and fingerprint clearances prior to employment
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

This estimate is based on industry standards and takes into account factors such as location, experience, and qualifications. Note that the actual salary may vary depending on the final selection process.
