Position Overview:

This versatile role is essential in assisting the surgical team to ensure exceptional patient care and support for medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Assists in the safe transfer of patients to and from surgical tables.
  • Supports the surgical team by holding patient limbs during preparation as instructed.
  • Ensures all necessary positioning devices and equipment are ready in the operating rooms.
  • Handles surgical specimens appropriately as per guidelines.
  • Collaborates with housekeeping to maintain cleanliness between surgical procedures.
  • Prepares sterile supplies for the nursing team, adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Verifies the completeness of case carts and procures necessary equipment and sterile items for scheduled surgeries.
  • Participates in inventory management and restocking of supplies.
  • Contributes to maintaining a safe environment by following infection control protocols.
  • Upholds patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
  • Engages in additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains cleanliness in the surgical department and related areas.
  • Properly disposes of sharps, biohazardous materials, and other waste.
  • Enhances the efficiency of the surgical schedule by ensuring timely case starts and turnovers.
  • Adheres to compliance standards and addresses any concerns regarding policies.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Certifications: BLS certification is preferred; CNA certification is also preferred.
