Job Summary

This Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) position is assigned to Diagnostic Imaging at Madison, WI VHA. The ideal candidate will provide professional care 100% of the time within the specialized assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and non-routine clinical care, including performing examinations, explaining exams to patients, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Coordinate a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to effectively diagnose patients.
  • Implement radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques, including concepts of accumulated dosage, dose monitoring, and genetic changes.
  • Check imaging systems for operation and assess acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
  • Monitor patient physiologic changes during procedures and keep radiologists informed.
  • Balance the needs of patients and staff while performing complex scans and procedures.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI
  • One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, demonstrating clinical competencies and knowledge of radiographic producing equipment, radiation protection standards, and digital image quality.
Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday, Noon-8pm, with rotational on-call schedule. This is not a virtual position.
