Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level I to join our team in a dynamic and patient-centered environment. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, obtaining clinical history, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process radiographs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with radiologists to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes for procedures performed.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
