Job Title: Children's Recreation Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team at Little City Foundation. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized recreation and fitness plans for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized recreation and fitness plans for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Provide recreation and fitness programming for children in a group setting.
  • Assess the specific needs, abilities, and interests of each child to develop a person-centered recreation and fitness plan.
  • Track progress and make adjustments to the plan as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as occupational therapists and psychologists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to the child's care.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to staff members who support the children in recreational activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
  • Certified Recreation Therapist (CRT) certification.
  • At least one year of experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Working Conditions:

The Recreation Therapist will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of children and staff members. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. The Recreation Therapist will be required to travel to off-site locations and participate in outdoor activities with the children.
