Job Description

The Professional Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance department within the center. This role is responsible for managing the activities of the Maintenance Supervisors, Professional Maintenance Specialists, and skilled trades' employees. The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical understanding related to all components and equipment within their respective Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Development: Lead and develop the maintenance staff to eliminate top machine losses and improve overall equipment efficiency.
  • Technical Support: Ensure technical and methodological support is provided to the departments to guarantee proper functionality and improvement of the equipment.
  • Analysis and Planning: Ensure detailed analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and Overall Line Efficiency (OLE) indicators, proper machines classification, and validation of recovery plan appropriateness.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Define the correct maintenance strategy to be carried out in relation to the production plan, available resources, and budget.
  • Data Collection and Management: Ensure correct data collection processes, assess maintenance activities, and manage spare parts storage strategy.
  • World Class Manufacturing: Assure focus on World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Autonomous Maintenance (AM) / Professional Maintenance (PM) activities.
  • Production Process Support: Support all aspects of production processes, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale, and drive successful implementation of WCM processes and standards.
  • Team Management: Manage the activities and priorities of maintenance area supervisors, professional maintenance leads, professional maintenance specialists, and respective skilled trades' employees.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or journeyperson; and minimum of 5 years of industrial automation maintenance experience, including some supervisory experience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
  • Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Coaching and Development: Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members.
  • Leadership: Goal-oriented self-starter with ability to lead team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing.
  • Troubleshooting and Programming: Troubleshooting and programming experience in one of the following: controls, robotics, drives, and system-level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding - all types, paint process and associated systems, vision systems, and sensors use and application.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with machine, systems operation, and integration.
  • Problem-Solving Tools: Must possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem-solving tools.
  • Software Skills: Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in technical/engineering field (i.e., BSME or BSEE).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a union environment.
  • Production/Maintenance Supervisory Experience: Production/maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • World Class Manufacturing: Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation.
  • Years of Experience: Seven or more years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment.
  • Welding Processes: Knowledge of welding processes (i.e., resistance spot welding).
  • Control Systems: Experience with Control Net Networks, Device Net Networks, ABB.
  • PLC Experience: Experience with RS Logic, PLC-5, Control Logics, Allen Bradley Drive Systems, machine installation, robotic automation, and application.
  • Body Shop Experience: Experience with body shop, stamping press automation, or subassemblies.
  • Software Skills: Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs.
