Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting Team at Schulte Companies. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis support to our hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze income statements and balance sheets for multiple hotels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank account reconciliations, to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Revenue Auditing: Conduct revenue audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepaid Expense Management: Manage and update prepaid expense schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Create and provide ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Journal Entries: Create, enter, and post journal entries as necessary.
  • Process Management: Manage and process imports between multiple software systems and accounting platforms.

Requirements:

  • Education: Formal education degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Intelligence: Ability to manage the creation of thoughtful analytical reports from source and transaction data.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in business intelligence and accounting systems, including advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Lodging Finance: Experience in lodging or multi-unit consumer sector finance is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial Environment: Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, entrepreneurial organization.
  • Progressive Career Development: Track record of progressive career development and ability to grow with additional responsibilities.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically expert capability in Excel.
  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in ProfitSword and Dynamics.
