General Overview
This role is accountable for the comprehensive management, execution, and success of underground utility construction projects valued up to $10 million.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement project blueprints, specifications, permits, and contractual obligations to guide the project team towards successful project completion.
- Conduct precise financial forecasting for project revenue and expenses to ensure profitability and assess potential risks.
- Collaborate with estimators to formulate budgets and gain insights into project scope and bidding.
- Work closely with field supervisors to develop schedules and allocate resources effectively for project execution.
- Identify and evaluate minor change orders for pricing.
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, overseeing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Build and sustain professional relationships with clients and their teams to foster long-term partnerships through exceptional service.
- Oversee multiple small to mid-sized projects for various clients concurrently.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, maintaining thorough documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Relevant experience in underground construction may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Professional Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in underground utility projects as a self-performing contractor.
- Familiarity with water, sewer, storm drain, asphalt trench paving, minor concrete structures, flatwork, and grading techniques.
- Understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage regulations.
- Attention to detail is critical.
