The Canyons School District is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in identifying students with speech or language impairments, diagnosing and assessing specific speech impairments, providing speech and language services to qualified students, and consulting with parents and teachers regarding student speech and language needs.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a contributing member of the Speech-Language-Hearing Staff.
- Keep informed of current developments, trends, and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Function as a member of the resource team, attending team meetings and IEP meetings.
- Administer appropriate tests to assess student's communicative strengths and limitations.
- Provide feedback directly to appropriate team members concerning referrals, testing results, and recommendations for programming.
- Assist the team in discussing, developing, and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
- Design and implement intervention programs based on the annual goals and short-term objectives of the IEP.
- Maintain records and required information in student files.
- Develop current lesson plans and update logs for each student enrolled in the program.
- Collect data on individual therapy tasks and make programming decisions based on data obtained.
- Maintain and support the confidentiality of all student records.
- Maintain SCRAM (Self-Contained Resource Accounting Master) records required by local and state agencies.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned by the principals and District administration.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- Incumbent must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal backgrounds check.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similar field.
- Must be eligible for or have a Professional Educator License for the State of Utah within the relevant 'License Area of Concentration' of 'Speech - Language Pathologist.'
- Experience in providing services to at-risk and high-risk students and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates must have a Speech Language Pathologist license or DOPL-SLP and be willing to obtain a Professional Speech Language Pathologist license through USBE.
- Expired licenses, out of state licenses, and University graduates from May or August 2024 semesters are also eligible to apply.

The speech language pathologist is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The speech language pathologist is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
