The County of Riverside is seeking skilled professionals to fill various Maintenance and Construction Worker positions throughout the county. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a range of duties related to road maintenance and construction, including repairing and installing culverts and road signs, patching asphalt roadways, and providing traffic control during road construction and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform recycling work at refuse disposal sites, including loading and unloading waste tires, collecting and packaging electronic waste for recycling, and handling and storing household hazardous waste.
- Spray, cut, and clear brush and weeds.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, mowers, and other light motorized equipment.
- Perform traffic direction, set up, and maintain traffic signs at refuse disposal sites.
- Perform graffiti abatement in unincorporated areas of Riverside County.
- Construct, maintain, and repair roads by patching holes with asphalt and/or concrete.
- Construct and maintain fencing, flood control channel walls, levees, and culverts.
- Clear fencing, roads, flood control channel walls, levees, culverts, and other facilities of storm debris and damage.
- One year of experience performing construction work or field maintenance work, including operating light trucks and related construction equipment.
- Valid California Driver License - Class A or B.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including rain, sleet, wind, and extreme temperatures.
The majority of this position will entail working outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Employees in safety-sensitive positions are subject to DOT alcohol/drug testing in various situations.
