Job Overview

Shriners Children's is seeking a PRN Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children's Shreveport. The ideal candidate will have several years of pediatric and/or orthopedics experience, preferably in an outpatient setting, and be open to covering 1-2 days per week, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs in the clinical and inpatient setting;
  • Ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests;
  • Formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans;
  • Routine pre or post-operative surgical care management;
  • Ordering interdisciplinary consults;
  • Ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions;
  • Assisting with minor clinic procedures
Qualifications
  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies required;
  • Current board certification from NCCPA required;
  • Valid LA PA-C license required;
  • Valid DEA license required;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
