Job Title: Staff Solutions Architect

Job Summary:

The Staff Solutions Architect is responsible for a demanding and rewarding variety of duties related to the development, enhancement, and delivery of industry-leading web-based enterprise software solutions for the SMB space with the Cloud Center of Excellence team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain Industry-wide knowledge of technologies and solutions, (including adjacent technologies) around Kubernetes and Public Cloud Services: AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of a broad spectrum processes, methods and tools used in software delivery and deployment
  • Develop and/or configure solutions per design specification, systems integration methods, and data interfaces and/or migration tools
  • Implement part or all of a technical solution to the business and/or functional partners, in accordance with an agreed technical design
  • Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions
  • Often leads small to medium technical projects
  • Work with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and nominated business representatives
  • Liaise with Enterprise Architect as appropriate
  • Provide technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment
  • Provide advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments
  • Provide technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with other DevOps engineers, business team members and management
  • Produce high-level conceptual designs and technical specifications for custom development and system integration requirements
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of our business and technical architecture and drive strategic roadmaps and plans
  • Provide high-quality consultation to technology and business partners, demonstrating a high level of functional and technical expertise
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
  • May assist in implementation plans and transition of knowledge to application production support teams for major projects/changes
  • Facilitate improvements to enterprise development and design standards, guidelines and processes
  • Perform technical reviews and contribute to quality standards and best practices
  • May act as a liaison or primary point of contact for communicating technical expertise within and outside the team
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business objectives and requirements and convert them into solution designs
  • Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
  • Should be well-versed in Agile (Scrum) project methodologies and development practices, particularly sprint planning and assessment, and test-driven development and continuous integration
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Science required; MS degree preferred
  • Experience: Developing and operating complex distributed software systems in an enterprise environment (5+ years)
  • Strong AWS development and deployment knowledge, Azure/Oracle Cloud are a plus
  • Developed infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS
  • Developing Infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform or AWS CDK
  • Coding in Java, Python, Go or other similar languages combined with strong operational skills (Preferably Python)
  • Developing Rest API's
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise
  • Mastered at least one technical discipline with strong knowledge in at least three major technology areas
  • Possesses advanced level of business, technical, or functional knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products
  • Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve business problems
  • Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence
  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with all levels of management and engineers
  • Ability to work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/documentation for delivery

The salary range for this role is $103,700 to $273,700. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience. A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.
