We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team at Abercorn Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and prevention.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective infection prevention and control strategies to minimize the risk of infection transmission.
- Conduct thorough investigations into reported infections and communicable diseases, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide education and training to staff on infection control best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement policies and procedures for infection control and prevention.
- Monitor and analyze infection control data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) or above required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
- Two (2+) years Nursing experience required.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, infectious diseases, and/or epidemiology in patient care practices OR prior Long-Term Care experience required.
- CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.
- CIC or APIC certification a plus.
Abercorn Rehabilitation Center is a 100-bed joint commission accredited center that offers in-patient residential care, short-term rehabilitation, and specialty services. Our property features private and semi-private rooms, landscaped grounds, 7-day-per-week admissions, residential activities, and a rehabilitation gym with inpatient and outpatient therapy, and accepts a wide variety of insurance plans.
