Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radionuclide therapy to patients, ensuring safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.
- Prepare, perform quality control, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for off-hour procedures, adhering to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Perform urgent nuclear medicine procedures in an on-call status or in a single technologist staffing model, prioritizing patient care and safety.
- Check orders for complete information and proper exam, scheduling exams as needed, and determining whether additional technical support is required.
- Interact appropriately with patients, care providers, and other team members, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)
- 1 year of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine experience (preferred)
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, care providers, and other team members. You may be exposed to high stress, fluctuating workloads, and physical altercations. You will also be required to work in a team-oriented environment, prioritizing patient care and safety.
