Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Regional Field Service Technician at Freightliner Northwest. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch maintenance and repair services to our customers in the greater Moses Lake and Tri-Cities areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-road and customer on-site maintenance services by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy duty equipment.
  • Run diagnostic tests and analyze results to identify issues and determine the best course of action.
  • Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.
  • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies and making recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems to diagnose and repair complex issues.
  • Develop technical skills through training opportunities and stay up-to-date with the latest industry technologies and best practices.
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the mobile service truck and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Heavy equipment dealership experience is highly desirable, with a minimum of two years of experience preferred.
  • Three years of actual truck repair experience is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a team player mentality are essential for success in this role.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds and have a full complement of tools.
Compensation and Benefits

Based on level of skill and experience, hourly compensation is $20.00 to $30.00. Night shift, weekend shift, and lead/mentor differential pay available. Additionally, Freightliner Northwest offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
