Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Exercise Specialty Instructor to join our team at Bend Metro and Park Recreation District. As a key member of our fitness team, you will be responsible for developing and instructing safe and engaging group water exercise classes for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality water exercise programs that cater to diverse needs and abilities.
  • Lead group classes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program objectives and guidelines.
  • Supervise and oversee the safety, comfort, and progress of participants.
  • Provide guidance and support to participants in achieving their individual goals.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, participants, and management to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of program materials, including lesson plans and promotional materials.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in water exercise and fitness instruction.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
  • Two years of professional-level experience in water exercise or a related field; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training.
  • Some teaching experience is preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent walking, bending, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with variable temperatures and humidity levels. The selected candidate must be able to work a varied schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
