Position Title: Retail Assistant Manager (Visual Merchandising)

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Service Expertise:

  • Develop business-driving initiatives that foster repeat patronage and attract new clientele.
  • Communicate and achieve store productivity objectives, including sales per hour and customer engagement metrics.
  • Ensure all team members complete the sales training program and cultivate strong product knowledge across all categories.
  • Model and oversee the sales environment, providing consistent coaching on the sales training process to ensure exceptional customer service and sales performance.

Leadership and Talent Development:

  • Assist the Store Manager in achieving financial success through measurable improvements that positively influence store performance.
  • Assume the Store Manager's responsibilities in their absence.
  • Lead by example in achieving personal sales targets.
  • Educate the team on sales strategies, personal objectives, and measurable statistics to maximize business outcomes.
  • Network within the community to efficiently fill open positions with minimal impact on business operations.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of employee performance.

Brand Equity Building:

  • Understand and effectively communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic, philosophy, and lifestyle to both the sales team and customers.
  • Ensure adherence to brand and operational standards to maintain brand consistency.
  • Implement visual merchandising directives and uphold store presentation standards.
  • Relay merchandise sell-through, stock status, business trends, product issues, and customer feedback to the Store Manager to enhance customer service and sales.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including cash register management and securing the facility.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining payroll budgets by managing schedules and making necessary adjustments based on business needs.
  • Monitor and uphold company policies and procedures with a focus on loss prevention to safeguard inventory and assets.
  • Accurately manage all POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Professional sales development and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities with effective communication abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze sales reports, identify business trends, and respond swiftly to business needs.
  • Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflicts within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Windows-based software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Availability to work the store schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of safely lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders.
