Job Title: Graduate Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Graduate Transportation Engineer to join our team at Alliant Engineering, Inc. in Tampa, Florida.

About the Role:

This is an exceptional growth opportunity for an experienced Graduate Transportation Engineer to support Transportation and ITS related projects in the southeast region. As a key technical expert, you will provide guidance in all aspects of transportation and ITS initiatives, including signal systems and connected vehicle applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize transportation, traffic, and ITS engineering knowledge to provide planning, design, and deployment services for clients to improve operations and safety.
  • Identify Florida DOT design and other processes to complete system engineering, design, and acceptance testing of ITS projects.
  • Provide accurate information on the latest technology to make decisions that will improve the safe and efficient movement along freeways and arterials.
  • Prepare preliminary and final reports that summarize the data collection, analysis, and recommendations for connected vehicle projects.
  • Analyze signing, traffic signal, and ITS inventories.
  • Apply GIS mapping and spatial analysis to develop tailored solutions for project needs.
Requirements:
  • 0-4 years of experience working with Transportation and ITS design in the Florida market.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Must possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply engineering knowledge to a variety of projects.
  • Knowledge of the Florida market with established relationships and contacts.
  • Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Florida.
  • IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician.
  • Task and project management experience.
