Faculty Position in Exercise Physiology

We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, and related areas.
Key Responsibilities- Teach introductory through upper-level courses in exercise science and kinesiology, including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, and related courses as needed.
- Develop and maintain the Exercise Physiology laboratory, including coordinating experiments and research projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Exercise Science and Kinesiology program, including curriculum design and clinical partnerships.
- Participate in scholarly and professional development activities, and contribute to the development and maintenance of the program and the college.
- Collaborate with faculty, athletics, and other departments to support student-centered teaching and advising, and student career development.
- Doctorate in Exercise Science or a closely related field with an Exercise Physiology concentration.
- Teaching experience at the university level, related professional experience, and an active and strong scholarly agenda.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and experiential learning.
- Professional membership in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is required; certifications in ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist® (ACSM-EP) &/or ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist® (ACSM-CEP), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) are highly desirable.
This position is within the Biology Department and requires creative collaboration with faculty, athletics, and other departments to support student-centered teaching and advising, and student career development.
