Overview

The Manual Machinist plays a crucial role in the production and repair of precision components through the operation of various machinery. This position requires expertise in both manual and automated equipment, ensuring high standards of accuracy in measurements and outputs. The Machinist will report directly to the Shop Supervisor.

Compensation: Negotiable

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze samples, blueprints, or directives to comprehend output specifications
  • Strategically plan the sequence of actions required for job completion
  • Accurately measure and mark materials for cutting
  • Execute sawing, drilling, counterboring, and tapping operations according to shop specifications
  • Inspect outputs to ensure conformity to specifications and report any defects to management
  • Maintain records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and address minor repairs

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience as a machinist in a comparable role
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Experience with manual and semi-automated machinery operation and programming
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capability to multitask and deliver quality results under pressure
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
