Job Summary:

The Talent Development Specialist role at Bass Pro Shops is a key position that supports the career planning and development of our employees. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining training, processes, communication, and resources required for our career planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer performance appraisal processes, including setting performance standards, goals, and evaluation criteria.
  • Provide training and support to leaders and business partners on performance management tools and best practices.
  • Develop and implement talent planning strategies to ensure a pipeline of qualified candidates for key positions.
  • Conduct talent assessments and partner with business and HR leaders to create development plans for high-potential employees.
  • Partner with learning and development to develop, source, and execute talent development programs that provide opportunities for skill and professional development.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the organization.
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of performance management and talent development initiatives.
  • Continuously improve programs based on feedback and evaluation results, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Serve as a consultant to the business on performance management and talent development needs and solutions.
  • Accountable for the performance/talent management system to enhance program delivery and accessibility.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all performance management and talent development activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in performance management, talent development, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint), experience in Adobe products, and Workday preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing performance management systems and talent development programs.
  • Strong understanding of performance appraisal processes and tools.
  • Have strong attention to detail, a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong eye for visual and professional appeal, imparts creativity to build an engaging communication strategy and resources.
  • Able to manage projects, create effective plans, and execute.
  • Demonstrated success engaging and influencing stakeholders.
  • Able to work with others, collaborate effectively, and build relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: listening and communication.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Navigates ambiguity and changing priorities successfully.
