Position Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies across various facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and manage the organization's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and protocols to protect employees and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Formulate strategies to mitigate accident recurrence, promote a safety-oriented work culture, and develop training initiatives aligned with plant policies.
- Support facilities in pollution prevention and waste reduction efforts through monitoring and expert guidance.
- Gather, analyze, and disseminate EHS performance metrics across multiple sites.
- Conduct job risk evaluations, safety inspections, and investigations to verify compliance with governmental safety and health regulations.
- Create and oversee EHS training programs, maintaining accurate training records for various locations.
- Collaborate with the local Human Resources department and Operational Leaders to manage worker's compensation claims.
- Engage in approximately 25% travel to other regional locations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, etc.) with at least 1 year of EH&S experience, OR
- Associate's degree with 3 or more years of EH&S experience, OR
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 or more years of EH&S experience.
Preferred:
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement processes, including data tracking and analytics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams.
- Proficient computer skills.
