Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Services Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of Youth Service Programming, including the Homework Center and the Summer Youth Program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct intakes, pre-assessments, and internal and external referrals utilizing the CAAPS procedure.
  2. Assist in the development of new programming and preparation of proposals.
  3. Manage day-to-day operations of youth service programs.
  4. Participate in local networking and community events to support youth programming.
  5. Assist youth with homework and tutor elementary and middle school aged youth.
  6. Supervise center activities.
  7. Gather information concerning available social services, education, training, jobs, and housing for youth to be a resource for the community and MOC.
  8. Recruit youth for programming.
  9. Complete the intake and assessment process on all potential clients, utilizing the CAAPS procedures; provide internal and external referrals to assist the client in obtaining appropriate services relative to their needs.
  10. Provide case management to youth and maintain detailed individual files.
  11. Assist in the development of program and budget design and implementation.
  12. Assist in the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to funders as required.
Requirements
  1. Associate degree in a related field or some post-secondary education with tutoring experience can substitute for degree; with at least one year of experience in youth programming.
  2. Case management experience and experience working with youth.
  3. Demonstrated program development and implementation experience.
  4. Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team.
  6. Strong computer skills preferred.
  7. Ability to relate to persons of varying socio-economic and racial/ethnic populations.
  8. Acceptable CORI.
