We are seeking a skilled Sr. Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at SightMD, a rapidly growing integrated ophthalmic provider group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care to patients across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with patient care and minor procedures.
- Perform vision and ocular tests, explaining procedures to patients.
- Document exam details and physician findings in the electronic chart.
- Ensure patient understanding of all instructions.
- Precept and train fellow technicians.
- Prepare, maintain, and clean treatment rooms and ophthalmic instruments.
- Report equipment malfunctions.
- Perform ancillary testing and document results.
- Administer medications according to compliance standards.
- Maintain inventory and assist with equipment upkeep.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or one (1) year of specialized ophthalmic experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred or enrolled within twelve (12) months of hire and completion within two (2) years of hire.
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) required or completion within 45 days of hire.
