Position Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of CHS Inc.'s Qualified Retirement Plans, which include both union and non-union pension plans as well as 401(k) plans. The position also encompasses the management of Non-Qualified Retirement Plans, such as SERP and Deferred Compensation. A critical aspect of this role is to shape the retirement benefits programs and policies within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Manage Qualified Retirement Plans**: Analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement and risk management related to plan design and execution.
2. **Cross-Functional Partnership**: Collaborate with various departments to support Executive Retirement Plans, ensuring compliance with required filings.
3. **Vendor Oversight**: Supervise the performance of record-keeping, investment management, and consulting partners.
4. **Regulatory Compliance**: Stay informed about changing regulations, ensuring that all plans adhere to compliance standards.
5. **Governance Collaboration**: Work with CHS staff to manage governance and agenda items for the Quarterly Retirement Plan Committee meetings, preparing necessary materials.
6. **Employee Education**: Develop educational materials and conduct workshops to inform employees about retirement programs.
7. **Strategic Planning**: Formulate long-term retirement strategies that align with the company's objectives, considering workforce demographics and industry trends.
8. **Plan Design and Optimization**: Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance retirement plans, ensuring they attract and retain talent while managing costs effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 7+ years of experience in Retirement Plans Management
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
- Extensive experience in retirement plan administration, ideally in a managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations and compliance requirements
- Analytical skills to interpret complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capacity to influence at all employee levels, demonstrating executive presence
- Strategic thinking to identify employee experience opportunities and recommend enhancements
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems
Compensation and Benefits
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package, including base salary and potential additional earnings such as bonuses and incentives.
