Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in evaluating, planning, and delivering nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures and pain management therapies. This position requires expertise in managing patients with varying degrees of complexity and multi-system health issues within a secure and supportive environment. The RN applies knowledge of developmental principles throughout the lifespan, assesses patient data reflective of their condition, and interprets information necessary to meet each patient's unique age-related needs. Establishing compassionate relationships with patients and their families is essential, as is collaborating effectively with the healthcare team while exercising sound judgment in nursing and medical interventions.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree (A.D.) or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Certifications and Licensure

Required certifications include BCLS and ACLS, which must be obtained within three months of employment. A current Registered Nurse license from the state of New Hampshire is mandatory.

Professional Experience

Demonstrated experience in effectively collaborating with patients, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams is essential. The ability to function as a team member is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective patient care in accordance with facility policies.
  • Educate patients and their families about care plans and prepare them for post-discharge management.
  • Manage care for patients with simple to complex multi-system conditions efficiently.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively.
  • Collect and interpret patient data through comprehensive assessments to inform care interventions.
  • Develop, assess, and modify patient care plans based on individual needs.
  • Utilize organized thinking to make informed clinical judgments and decisions.
  • Actively participate in center activities and initiatives.
  • Document care provided and monitor patient progress towards desired outcomes.
  • Supervise and guide others, including nursing students and surgical technologists, in delegated nursing tasks.
  • Lead the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
