As a Traffic Sign and Road Markings Technician, you will be instrumental in enhancing the safety and visual appeal of our community's roadways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and identify suitable locations for the installation of traffic signs and associated equipment.
  • Fabricate and install signs, poles, markers, barricades, cones, and pavement indicators.
  • Position traffic control signage in accordance with MUTCD regulations.
  • Manage cones, barricades, message boards, and directional boards.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace existing signage and traffic control devices.
  • Oversee inventory management on the work vehicle.
  • Trim vegetation to enhance sign visibility in compliance with FDOT standards.
  • Ensure precise record-keeping in the Cartegraph system following installations for asset management.
  • Regularly respond to and address community requests and concerns from the task list.
We offer thorough training to prepare you for this role.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair work.
  • Completion of IMSA sign and road markings courses Level I and II within designated timelines.
  • Successful completion of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification within six months.
  • Valid Florida driver's license upon hiring.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

** Subject to Passing Substance Screening: A pre-employment substance screening is required for this position. A failed drug test will result in a five-year disqualification period.

Additional Information

Starting Salary: $18.21 (Step 1)

Potential for higher compensation based on experience.

1. I-9 Acceptable Documents for identity and work authorization verification.
  • Florida Driver's License required if the position demands it.
2. U.S. Social Security Card (signed). This is essential for payroll processing.
