POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the Ellucian Banner software systems utilized within the institution. Responsible for creating integrations with external vendor systems that are essential for university operations. Executes advanced programming tasks and provides guidance to fellow developers as necessary. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% - Critical - Advanced Development: Serves as a Subject Matter Expert.
Designs and delivers technical solutions for key Banner Student Systems. Modifies, tests, and implements programs for development initiatives while creating and maintaining technical documentation. Adheres to and enhances development coding standards. Engages in the analysis and design of assigned products in collaboration with stakeholders. Acts as the product expert for student systems. Utilizes programming skills to mentor team members. Conducts code reviews as required. Estimates development and design efforts for projects.


20% - Critical - Communication and Collaboration: Ensures effective written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders and IT personnel.

Provides timely and precise information to stakeholders as required by assigned tasks. Employs communication and programming skills to present optimal solutions. Executes technical instructions and requests from business analysts. Facilitates technical design meetings to confirm requirements and final stakeholder needs.

20% - Critical - System Administrative Support: Acquires knowledge of business rules, technical design, and production requirements of intricate systems. Maintains a focus on user satisfaction when issues arise. Adheres to software development life cycle standards for coding practices.

10% - Critical - On Call Support: Engages in on-call support for complex systems. Analyzes logs, executes SQL queries, and interprets error messages to identify failure points. Communicates with stakeholders during investigation and resolution processes. Confirms the completion of resolutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, along with experience in computer system development and modification.

Relevant experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience: 5+ years

Extensive experience with Ellucian Banner 9 and associated systems (e.g., Banner Workflow, DegreeWorks); proficiency in PL/SQL and Grails programming; familiarity with Automic/UC4 job scheduling software is preferred. Experience with API development and React.js is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a complex software lifecycle development environment using tools such as the Atlassian suite and Bitbucket, and will be adept at collaborating with business analysts to determine, develop, and test modifications.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($66,000 - $100,000)


Salary is contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's prior experience, knowledge, skills, and performance in accordance with compensation guidelines.

Required to adhere to emergency facility closure directives, and not typically expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
