Position Summary:

The Forklift and Palletizer Operator will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and will be stationed at our Hendersonville, North Carolina facility. This role involves operating the palletizer and forklift associated with the assigned production line efficiently. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift to stack and retrieve goods, supplies, and materials.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure cleanliness in the production area.
  • Document and manage inventory records accurately.
  • Set up and operate the automatic palletizer, stretch wrap machine, and related equipment.
  • Adjust machine settings to meet specifications promptly and accurately.
  • Understand and utilize all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
  • Operate all machine controls effectively (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic).
  • Perform code changes as necessary.
  • Monitor the pattern formation of cases on the palletizer.
  • Change rolls of stretch wrap and clear jams as needed.
  • Coordinate with the line driver to ensure the correct pallets are available.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating the palletizer.
  • Understand the Human-Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Adhere to all safety requirements diligently.
  • Be accountable for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Report any actual or potential food safety issues to management.
  • Maintain compliance with all SQF requirements.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • At least six months of experience in a manufacturing environment operating a forklift and other production equipment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production environment.

Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment.

Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height, and wearing a dust mask. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in temperature.

Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, color, and peripheral vision with or without correction.

Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
