PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Support
- Maintain and support the wide area network
- Assist in the installation and configuration of corporate hardware and software
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues as necessary
- Install upgrades and test corporate technology for optimal performance
- Contribute to long-term strategies and capacity planning for future hardware needs
- Collaborate with other network professionals to ensure efficient operations
End User Assistance
- Conduct basic onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware issues for end users
- Assist in recommending and implementing effective solutions
- Document all phases of resolution, including testing and follow-up communication
Incident Management
- Support performance incident responses and emergency network outages
- Participate in root cause analysis and response reviews for performance issues
- Update documentation following performance incidents
- Assist in post-incident training related to systems and hardware
- Contribute to the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
Procurement Assistance
- Maintain an inventory of network equipment
- Document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals
- Coordinate with third-party support and equipment providers as necessary
- Draft technical specifications for the procurement of desktops and related products
Communication
- Engage with associates and vendors regarding technology network concerns
- Resolve operational issues for end users and assist with inquiries
- Escalate issues as required
Additional duties may be assigned as needed within the scope of this role.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent education and industry experience
- 1-3 years of experience in network engineering or operations
- Proficiency in layer 1-7 and routing protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, IP management, Internet Security, switches, and routers
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 troubleshooting and support
- Availability for on-call duties as needed
- Preferred experience with VMware ESXi, Windows server, VoIP, Hypervisor, Cisco networking, or ASA administration
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are preferred
- Experience in a managed cloud environment (Azure/AWS) is preferred
