Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Control Technician 3 to join our Radiation Protection Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting various work activities across our facilities, implementing radiation protection requirements, and collaborating with multiple work groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to field implementation of the Radiation Protection Program through radiological job coverage, workplace surveys, and documentation of radiological data.
  • Assist and mentor less experienced RCTs in the execution of radiation monitoring, contamination control, emergency response, and the implementation of radiation work permits and other work documents.
  • Develop and implement radiological work planning (RWPs, IWDs, etc.) to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Respond to radiological events (spill, personnel contamination, etc.) and provide effective communication and documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in providing radiological support for moderate and high-hazard radiological work.
  • Experience in responding to radiological events and developing radiological work planning.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and effectively communicate verbally and written.
  • Knowledge of DOE Radiation Protection policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DOE Q clearance.
  • Currently DOE Core certified.
  • NRRPT (National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists) certification.
