Position Overview:
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive support services tailored for employees, management, and the organization. This position is essential for fostering a healthy workplace environment within a large governmental entity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct counseling services, respond to critical incidents, and provide training and outreach initiatives to enhance awareness of EAP offerings.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate treatment services and community resources, ensuring seamless transitions and positive client experiences.
- Manage a caseload of counseling clients, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with supervisors on clinical case discussions and manage high-risk cases effectively.
- Build and sustain relationships with local stakeholders, clients, and community contacts to promote proactive collaboration.
- Uphold all clinical protocols, processes, and policies, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active, unrestricted Independent North Dakota License (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in EAP, mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral health settings.
- Capability to obtain federal security clearance for a non-sensitive/high-risk public trust role, including fingerprinting and a thorough background investigation.
- Preferred: Demonstrated cultural competency in engaging with law enforcement personnel.
