Job Title: Behavioral Health Consultant

Spectra Health is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our integrated healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing assessment, consultation, and targeted interventions to patients and families.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Consultant will work closely with primary care providers, social services, and addiction treatment teams to ensure that psychological and behavioral concerns are addressed. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide brief consultation services to patients and providers using the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model.
  • Assist clients in identifying and achieving goals related to their mental health and lifestyle factors that affect health.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialty mental health or addiction counseling providers as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation through a shared electronic health record.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral health sciences.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure.
  • Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of motivational interviewing and other evidence-based interventions.

Working Conditions:

The Behavioral Health Consultant will work in a clinical setting and require some hands-on patient care. OSHA category: High risk. Job requires performance of tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.

Physical Requirements:

The Behavioral Health Consultant is primarily a desk job that requires the ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) at a desk or workstation. Periodically, the position requires lifting or carrying items that would be appropriate in an office environment, not more than 20lbs.
