Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at CharterCARE Health Partners. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties related to preparing, compiling, and maintaining patient and hospital records in a satellite laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate activities related to phlebotomy, including scheduling patients' tests as ordered by physicians.
- Perform other clerical and accommodative services to assist the laboratory staff.
- Transcribe physicians' orders onto transmittals.
- Prepare requisitions/transmittals ordering laboratory tests requested by physicians.
- Register patients and order testing using appropriate computer programs when applicable.
- Be proficient in all phlebotomy skills and well-versed in tools and supplies used in phlebotomy.
- Regularly perform functions of a laboratory assistant.
- High school diploma or GED with education in Phlebotomy required.
- Phlebotomy certification required.
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving record preferred.
- Three to six months experience as a Phlebotomist.
- Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines.
- Demonstrated customer service skill.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers/other departments.
- Ability to work independently and identify tasks that need to be completed.
- Knowledge of Medical terminology preferred.
- Maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information.
The physical ability to perform a variety of body movements, including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, stretching, and reaching, is required. Physical ability to push, pull, and lift more than 50 lbs is also required. Traveling to off-site locations to collect specimens is a requirement of this position.
