Position Overview

We are seeking a Security Officer to enhance our expanding Security Department. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring a secure environment for our employees. This position will directly assist our Security Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement safety and security protocols, site-specific policies, and emergency response actions as needed.
• Document security breaches and suspicious activities, while monitoring facilities for damage.
• Conduct property patrols via vehicle and on foot to deter criminal activity, enforce regulations, and safeguard personnel and assets.
• Control and authorize access for vehicles and individuals entering the premises.
• Ensure all exits, doors, and windows are secured after operations conclude.
• Respond to alarms by assessing and investigating the situation.
• Provide assistance to individuals in distress.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Maintain a high level of proficiency with weapons.
• Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid (training will be provided if not certified).
• Exhibit a high standard of personal grooming and appearance, including adherence to uniform requirements.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, urgency, and transparency.
• Work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Quickly and accurately evaluate and select among alternative courses of action.
• Effectively manage workplace issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving problems.

• Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Maintain physical fitness to meet job requirements.

Education and Experience

• Completion of Level II or Level III training is required.
• Possession of a valid, unexpired Non-Commissioned or Commissioned Officer Certification.
• Knowledge of equipment and utility failures, fire safety violations, accidents, or injuries.
• Familiarity with:
  • Security-related deficiencies (e.g., unsecured access points, inadequate lighting).
  • Property crimes such as theft, vandalism, and arson.
  • Use of intoxicants or non-prescription drugs.
  • General disturbances and concerning behaviors.
