Zurich E&S is seeking a seasoned Lead Underwriter specializing in Financial Institutions to contribute to our operations. This role involves underwriting management and professional liability accounts tailored to the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Underwriter, you will:
1. Administer and oversee underwriting protocols, insurance regulations, and rating manual guidelines.
2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with external brokers, agencies, and internal Zurich units to achieve production growth objectives.
3. Deliver exceptional service to our broker partners and clients.
4. Assess and quantify potential risks from policyholders while determining suitable premium rates in accordance with Zurich standards.
5. Manage a diverse portfolio of accounts and build a robust business pipeline.
6. Collaborate and cross-sell with various stakeholders and business lines within Zurich.
Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support, or
- Completion of the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program with an Associate Degree and 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- Completion of the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program with an Associate Degree and 8 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in Financial Lines underwriting directly related to Financial Institutions.
- A service-oriented approach with strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to effectively evaluate risk.
Compensation:
Compensation for this role varies based on several factors, including office location, role, skill set, and experience level. The salary range for this position is competitive and reflects the market standards. Additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases.
