Key Responsibilities- Guest Registration and Check-in/Check-out: Greet and register guests in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process.
- Room Assignments and Key Management: Assign rooms to guests, issue room keys, and maintain accurate records of guest room assignments.
- Guest Safety and Security: Ensure guest safety by following established security procedures, including fire and tornado protocols, key security, and guest privacy.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Record and communicate guest special requests and problems to the appropriate department, ensuring timely and acceptable resolutions.
- Front Desk Operations: Answer inquiries about hotel services, guest registration, and local attractions, providing travel directions and recommendations as needed.
- Cash Handling and Deposits: Accurately compute bills, collect payment, make change, and make deposits according to Kinseth Hospitality's cash handling procedures.
- Reservations and Room Management: Make, confirm, and cancel reservations via telephone, computer, and in writing, ensuring accurate room assignments and availability.
- Phone and Email Management: Answer and route internal and external phone calls, responding to guest inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and friendly manner.
- Guest Valuables and Safekeeping: Deposit guests' valuables in the hotel safe or safe deposit box, ensuring their security and confidentiality.
- Shift-to-Shift Log and Front Desk Maintenance: Maintain accurate shift-to-shift logs, ensuring proper communication between shifts, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotel lobby and front desk area.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to complaints or inquiries from groups of managers, customers, or employees in person, via telephone, or in writing.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to accurately handle cash, credit cards, and checks. Ability to use basic accounting functions to balance deposits/daily work.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
