Position: After School Program Educator

Overview:
This role is part of the after school initiative at Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin HS, a renowned institution dedicated to Progressive Education. Our mission is to create a secure, imaginative, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. We emphasize a non-competitive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants, encouraging them to forge new friendships and engage in enjoyable activities that spark their interests and promote skill development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a safe, inviting, and interactive setting for children aged 4-12.
  • Facilitate daily programming for after school attendees, which includes homework assistance, artistic endeavors, group games, culinary projects, and activities inspired by the children's interests.
  • Maintain open communication with families regarding daily happenings and their children's progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM.
  • Compensation: $22 - $25 per hour.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or the arts is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an educational environment is desirable.
  • Proven ability to design and lead age-appropriate group activities.
  • Strong collaborative skills and effective communication abilities.
  • A background in creative fields such as visual arts, dance, theater, or music is advantageous.
