Job Title: Transportation Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Mechanic to join our team at Garland Independent School District. As a Transportation Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles to ensure safe and reliable transportation for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair school buses and other vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles
  • Ensure all vehicles are in compliance with state and federal regulations
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
  • ASE Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of automotive mechanic experience
