Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and delivering respiratory therapy services in accordance with the department's standards and the state's scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

• Certificate in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
• State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician or State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT), Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT), or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
