Medical Accessioning Specialist

The Medical Accessioning Technician is a key member of our laboratory team, responsible for receiving and processing patient specimens in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive and process patient specimens in a timely and accurate manner
• Verify patient information and specimen labeling to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Enter data into the laboratory information system with precision and attention to detail
• Follow established procedures and protocols to maintain accurate records and ensure quality results
• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure seamless specimen processing and testing
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the laboratory team
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in a laboratory setting preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures essential
• Ability to follow established procedures and protocols, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in laboratory information systems
Working Conditions
The Medical Accessioning Technician will work in a laboratory setting with exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals. The technician must follow established safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
