Radiation Oncology Physicist

Position Overview:
Zunch Staffing is in search of a proficient and knowledgeable Radiation Oncology Physicist to enhance our team.

The Radiation Oncology Physicist will play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and safety of radiation therapy through comprehensive quality assurance, calibration, acceptance testing, and commissioning of treatment machines and planning systems.

This position requires collaboration with medical personnel, nursing staff, and administrative teams to align radiation safety protocols with the operational objectives of the Cancer Center.


Core Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough quality assurance, calibration, acceptance testing, and commissioning of radiation therapy machines and treatment planning systems.


Leverage expertise in Eclipse Treatment Planning, VariSeed, Brachyvision treatment planning systems, and various techniques such as 3D-Conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, RapidArc, SRS, SBRT, HDR Brachytherapy, patient dose verification, and radiation safety.


Operate Truebeam units, Varisource iX HDR systems, Philips Big Bore 16 Slice CT simulators, and Eclipse treatment planning systems.

Work collaboratively with medical staff, nursing personnel, and hospital management to ensure alignment with established operational goals.

Qualifications:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or a related discipline is required.

Preferably a graduate of a CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics program.

A minimum of three years' experience as a Medical Physicist in a Radiation Therapy department is essential.

Must be recognized as an Authorized Medical Physicist as defined by the NRC and/or State agency within one year of employment.

Successful completion of part 2 of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) exam is required upon hire.


Within two years of employment, candidates must complete part 3 of the ABR exam and achieve full certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to physics and therapeutic services.

Ability to ensure the quality of radiation delivery in Radiation Therapy through effective planning and implementation of quality control programs.

Strong communication skills across all levels and exceptional organizational capabilities.


Capacity to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of personnel, including physicians, staff, clinical directors, administrative personnel, and community representatives.


Compensation and Benefits:

Salary based on experience:
$172,000 - $240,000.
