Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Mercy Haven's West Babylon Community Residence Program. This part-time position involves working closely with individuals living with severe mental illness, providing hands-on training and assistance in daily activities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with related experience working with people living with mental illness or other disabilities. A valid NYS Driver's License is required for this role. In return, we offer a competitive salary of $**43,000 - $51,000 per year**, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives
  • Assist residents with daily living skills, such as cooking and cleaning, and document interactions
  • Accompany residents on recreational outings and provide transportation as needed
  • Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management for adults living with severe mental illness
