GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist users with daily issues related to programs or databases, correcting errors by implementing necessary changes and ensuring successful outcomes before user testing.
• Collaborate with the business community to assess user information needs, designing and developing straightforward application programs to meet those needs. May diagnose and resolve moderately complex issues, conducting thorough analyses of defined system applications.
• Provide technical support for the design of new systems or significant modifications that align with existing applications, assisting in fact-finding to develop or modify data processing systems.
• Schedule the installation of new hardware and software to minimize operational disruptions, analyzing data conversions and software documentation for system migrations and upgrades.
• Design, code, test, and debug simple programs, assisting senior programmer/analysts with programming tasks and design work to ensure technical logic meets user requirements.
• Execute functions with caution on production machines, whether at menu level or programmer access level.
• Understand necessary change management processes, including maintaining and properly updating all testing and training environments.
• Help establish protocols to ensure system operationality during peak working hours.
• Recommend strategies to senior programmer/analysts to maximize the useful life of current systems.
• Document and annotate programming for clarity regarding program functions and changes.
• Coordinate all aspects of implementation and training to optimize new programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
All Epic Programmers:
• Support the Epic Client Systems Administrator as a secondary contact for analyzing, troubleshooting, and upgrading client systems.
• Assist the Epic Operational Database Administrators as a secondary contact for analyzing, troubleshooting, and applying upgrades to the Epic environment.
• Participate in the team on-call rotation, reviewing logs and daily status reports, monitoring systems, and fulfilling user requests.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education, training, or experience is required.
EXPERIENCE
Zero to three years of programming experience is required, with a solid understanding of current information systems or similar installations. Familiarity with basic systems analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage, and internal systems is essential.
SKILLS

Demonstrates excellent customer service, finding creative solutions while educating users. Shows a commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work. Communicates in layman's terms to effectively inform non-technical individuals. Understands and utilizes appropriate communication methods when interacting with supervisors, co-workers, and users (e.g., telephone, written form, email, in person, etc.). Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to perform under pressure. Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to all departmental policies and procedures.

Able to utilize all electronic tools and applications relevant to job performance, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer, and software applications. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Busy office environment with frequent deadlines and interruptions. Participation in on-call support rotation is required.
